The women who are pregnant will always dream about their baby but they should focus on their health too. The new mother should follow a healthy diet after giving birth, which will help her to improve her strength. The nutrition from the healthy foods will regulate their hormones and helps them to produce breastfeeding milk.

  • Proteins: A breastfeeding mother needs more protein than non-nursing women. They need to consume 71 grams of protein per day. The lean meats, fish, eggs, dairy products, nuts, and seed have more proteins. They can consume B-12 supplements after consulting with their doctor.
  • Whole grains: It has a rich amount of carbohydrates, which can provide instant energy to the new mother. If the blood sugar goes down, they will feel tired and weak but the whole grains such as brown rice, barley, bulgur and oatmeal helps them to gain their energy. That’s why the doctors advise the new mother to add these grains in their diet often.
  • Fruits & Vegetables: It can supply the fiber, which will prevent constipation for new mothers. They can often consume apple, potatoes, blueberries, grapes, peaches, nectarines and spinaches to improve their immune system. These foods will provide the required Vitamins and Minerals to them.
